In the Gaziemir district of Izmir, M.T. killed Pehlül Taş, whom he believed to be cheating on him, by dressing in a police uniform and going to him.
Pehlül Taş (52) was shot and killed by M.T. (49), who was wearing a police vest and hat, in front of his house in the Gaziemir district of İzmir. The suspect M.T., who was captured by the police, stated in his first statement that he committed the murder because he thought his ex-fiancée was cheating on him with Taş.
FLED THE SCENE IN A VEHICLE
The incident occurred yesterday around 10:30 PM on Gazi Albay İbrahim Karaoğlanoğlu Street. Pehlül Taş had an argument with M.T., who was wearing a police vest and hat, for an undetermined reason in front of his house. As the argument escalated, M.T. shot Taş and fled in a vehicle with the license plate 35 BML 167. Upon notification from the surrounding people, police and medical teams were dispatched to the area. Medical personnel determined that Pehlül Taş had lost his life. After the prosecutor's examination, Taş's body was taken to the İzmir Forensic Medicine Institution Morgue for an autopsy.
CLOTHING FOUND IN THE TRASH
In the investigations carried out by the Homicide Bureau of the Public Order Branch with the support of the Intelligence Branch, the suspect M.T. was captured and taken into custody. It was learned that in his first statement, the suspect said he committed the murder because he thought his ex-fiancée was cheating on him with Pehlül Taş. In the investigations conducted by the teams, the police vest, hat, and clothing used by the suspect during the incident were found in a trash container, while the unlicensed firearm used in the incident was found in the forest. It was reported that M.T., who was taken into custody, is still undergoing processing at the police station.
