The Syrian army's takeover of the Tabqa district in Raqqa province from the terrorist organization YPG/SDF has caused an uproar in the region. As the terrorist organization withdrew from the city, it executed prisoners in the prison and destroyed bridges and water lines. The Syrian government accused the YPG/SDF of committing war crimes in violation of the Geneva Conventions by executing prisoners in Tabqa and condemned this in the strongest terms.
According to a report by the Syrian official news agency SANA, the army has completely secured control of the strategically important Tabqa district of Raqqa. The report stated that members of the terrorist organization YPG/SDG located in the district have been expelled from the area.
200 ORGANIZATION MEMBERS SURRENDERED
The Syrian Ministry of Defense's Media and Communication Department also announced that 483 members of the terrorist organization YPG/SDG contacted the authorities to separate from the organization. The statement noted that 200 organization members surrendered.
