The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) is preparing to make changes to its regulations following the discussions that began after the withdrawal of the visiting team in the Galatasaray-Adana Demirspor match. According to the new decision, a team that withdraws from the field may be relegated from the league.
The discussions that began with the withdrawal of the visiting team during the Galatasaray-Adana Demirspor match, which was the scene of major events, continue as the Football Federation Board took action after its meeting.
According to a report in Sabah, the TFF Board decided to impose much harsher penalties on teams that withdraw from the field in its meeting. A move has been initiated to amend the disciplinary regulations regarding this matter.
"THEY WILL BE RELEGATED"
According to the news; This regulation will be amended and penalties will be intensified. The new regulation will come into effect in the coming days. It was stated that the relegation of the team that leaves the match could be applied on the first withdrawal.
In the TFF Football Competition Regulations, it was stated: "While a decision of loss by forfeit is made for the team that leaves the match, additionally, points equal to the points awarded for a victory will be deducted from their current points. In such cases, the relevant club is obliged to pay the compensation determined by the TFF to cover the expenses of the referees and other expenses, as well as the damages of the opposing team. A decision of loss by forfeit along with relegation to a lower league will be made for teams that do not show up for the competition for the second time in a season or leave the field."
