Meloni's statement in the Italian Parliament came after the opposition accused the right-wing government of being too lenient towards the US and Israel. Spain stands out among the countries openly criticizing this issue.

Speaking in Parliament, Meloni argued that the war in the Middle East is part of a global instability process that began with Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022. SUPPORT FOR GULF COUNTRIES
The Italian Prime Minister also announced that they are providing air defense support to the Gulf countries affected by Iran's attacks. Meloni stated that this step is not only aimed at supporting friendly and strategic partner countries but is also necessary for the safety of tens of thousands of Italian citizens living in the region. It was also noted that approximately 2,000 Italian soldiers are deployed in the area.
