HE IS A CHILD OF A TURKISH FAMILYThe reformist president of Iran, Pezeshkian, was born on September 29, 1954, in the city of Mahabad, as a child of an Iranian Turkish family, and he has expressed his pride in his Turkish identity at every opportunity. In the elections held in two rounds, reformist Tabriz MP and former Minister of Health Masoud Pezeshkian was elected as the 9th President of the country, receiving 53.7% of the votes. Pezeshkian, who frequently states that he is Turkish and takes pride in it, celebrated his victory with a Turkish song. After Pezeshkian's victory in Iran, Iranian citizens gathered and sang the song "The Turk's back does not bend."
