The incident occurred around 02:30 on the Lapseki-Çanakkale highway. The car with the license plate 35 APD 325, whose driver has not yet been identified, allegedly began to flee without obeying the police's 'stop' signal. The car, which entered a chase with the police, went in the opposite direction at the Kangırlı junction and collided with the car with the license plate 17 LP 800 coming from the Lapseki direction.
5 PEOPLE LOST THEIR LIVES, 1 INJURED
Other drivers who witnessed the accident reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Health teams. Upon notification, many ambulances and fire crews were dispatched to the scene. As a result of the accident, 5 people in the two cars lost their lives, while 1 person was injured. The bodies of the deceased were taken to the Lapseki State Hospital morgue.
IDENTITIES REVEALED
In the accident, Nuray Tekin, Osman Göksu, Doğukan Samet Eğer, who were in the vehicle with the license plate 35 APD 325, and Neslihan Soysal and Hanife Soysal, who were in the vehicle with the license plate 17 LP 800 driven by Mustafa Soysal, lost their lives, while the driver was injured. The driver, who was taken to the hospital by ambulance, is still receiving treatment. An investigation has been initiated regarding the accident.
