The full minutes of the meeting between AK Party Deputy Chairman Hüseyin Yayman, DEM Party Group Deputy Chair Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit, and MHP Deputy Chairman Feti Yıldız with Abdullah Öcalan on Imralı Island were shared with the public on the TBMM's website two months after the meeting.

The Grand National Assembly of Turkey published the full minutes of the meeting held on Imralı Island on November 24, 2025. The records of the meeting conducted on behalf of the Assembly's National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission were made available on the official website of the GNAT under the title "Imralı High Security Prison Meeting Minutes."

THREE MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT FROM THREE PARTIES ATTENDED

Hüseyin Yayman, Deputy Chairman of the AK Party, Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit, Deputy Group Chair of the DEM Party, and Feti Yıldız, Deputy Chairman of the MHP, attended the meeting held on Imralı Island. The delegation conducted a meeting with PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan on behalf of the National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission.

SUMMARY MINUTES DREW REACTIONS

The summary minutes prepared after the meeting were read at the commission meeting held on December 4, 2025. However, the sharing of the minutes only in summary form drew reactions from opposition parties, especially the DEM Party. The opposition argued that the content of the meeting should be shared with the public in its entirety.

FULL TEXT PUBLISHED TWO MONTHS LATER

At that time, the Speaker of the Assembly, Numan Kurtulmuş, had not taken any steps to disclose the full minutes. After approximately two months, the GNAT decided to publish the full text of the meeting.

ÖCALAN'S "ÜLKÜ OCAĞI" STATEMENT

In the published minutes, Abdullah Öcalan stated that the Kurdish issue is a thousand-year-old problem and consists of three phases. Öcalan expressed that contextual developments should be taken into account in the evaluation of the process. The minutes also included statements where Öcalan mentioned that he took his first step into politics at the Ülkü Ocağı.

"WITHOUT THE RIGHT TO HOPE..."

According to the minutes, Öcalan stated that "Bahçeli did not use the term right to hope in vain, that he could not work without this, and that if he did not succeed in Syria after this was done, he would accept being judged and criticized."

DESCRIBED THE PROCESS AS "NON-VIOLENT CENTURY"

In response to Yayman's statement that "some politicians and individuals have poisoned the process with their statements," Öcalan said that "some individuals in the PKK have also done this, that if their working opportunities increase during the process, all of this can be resolved, that the conditions and opportunities are not suitable for this, that while he is alive, this move and the century will be successful, that while the interlocutors call it 'Terror-Free Turkey,' he calls it 'Non-Violent Century,' and that he has the power to contribute as much as the interlocutors and is optimistic about the process."
