The Minister of Family and Social Services, Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, announced that the upper limit amount for transportation support has been increased to 1900 lira for a one-way trip.

The Minister of Family and Social Services, Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, announced that the upper limit for transportation support for students in households benefiting from social assistance has been increased to 1900 lira for a one-way trip.

Minister Göktaş stated that the transportation support, which started in 2022, will continue, reminding that more than 100,000 students have benefited from the support so far.

PROVIDED FOUR TIMES A YEAR FOR ROUND TRIPS

Stating that they contribute to the intercity transportation expenses of primary, secondary, and higher education students studying in a different province from their families, Göktaş expressed that they provide support for students' transportation expenses four times a year for round trips.

Continuing to support students and their families, Minister Göktaş noted: "We have updated the upper limit of the support we will provide for 2025, increasing it from 1250 lira to 1900 lira for a one-way trip. So far, we have allocated approximately 100 million lira to our Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundations. More than 100,000 students have benefited from our transportation support, which we implement to cover the transportation expenses of students in households receiving social assistance. We will continue to reach every individual in society by developing holistic and fair social service models. In this regard, we will be there for households benefiting from social assistance whenever they need support."

Minister Göktaş also stated that applications for the support program should be made by the student or their family to the Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation in the area where the family resides.
