According to the data from the General Directorate of Meteorology, the spring weather that has been effective across the country is giving way to winter conditions again. While temperatures are dropping, strong rainfall and storms are expected in many provinces.
The General Directorate of Meteorology announced that the spring weather, especially felt in the inner and western regions, has come to an end. Air temperatures will decrease by 3 to 5 degrees in the western parts. Rainy weather will also be effective in cities such as Istanbul, Izmir, and Antalya.
RAIN EXPECTED FOR 6 DAYS Intermittent rain is expected in many cities, including Istanbul, over the next 6 days. Experts warned citizens to be cautious against sudden temperature changes.
STRONG RAIN AND FLOOD RISK It is predicted that the rainfall will be strong in the Aegean and Western Mediterranean regions, as well as in some provinces of Marmara. While effective rainfall is expected in Istanbul, Balıkesir, Çanakkale, Yalova, and Bursa, it was noted that very strong and severe rainfall could be seen in Aydın, Denizli, and Muğla. Authorities warned of the risk of flooding and waterlogging in these areas.
YELLOW CODE WARNING FOR 12 PROVINCES The Meteorology issued a yellow code warning for Afyonkarahisar, Antalya, Aydın, Burdur, Bursa, Denizli, Isparta, Izmir, Kütahya, Manisa, Muğla, and Uşak. It was stated that adverse weather conditions could affect daily life in these provinces.
STORM WILL BE EFFECTIVE Winds are expected to reach speeds of 70 kilometers per hour in the west of the Aegean and Western Mediterranean, blowing in the form of a storm. Experts emphasized that citizens living in coastal areas should be cautious.
WHEN WILL THE WEATHER WARM UP? According to meteorological data, the effect of cold and rainy weather will last for a few days. Air temperatures are expected to start rising again from April 4.
HOW WILL THE WEATHER BE TODAY? According to the latest assessments made by the General Directorate of Meteorology: The generality of our country is expected to be partly and very cloudy, with rain and showers in Marmara, Aegean, Mediterranean, Central Anatolia (except Kayseri and Sivas), Western Black Sea (except Sinop), and the regions of Çorum and Siirt, while the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts will have scattered thunderstorms and showers, and Hakkari and Şırnak regions will experience mixed rain and occasional snowfall. It is expected that the rainfall will be strong in the Aegean and Western Mediterranean, as well as in the regions of Balıkesir and Bursa, while very strong and severe rainfall may occur in Aydın, Denizli, and Muğla. In the inner regions, fog and occasional mist are expected in the evening and night hours. There is a risk of avalanche and snowmelt in sloped areas with a high snow cover in the inner parts of the Eastern Black Sea and the eastern part of Eastern Anatolia.
AIR TEMPERATURE: It is predicted that the air temperature will decrease by 3 to 5 degrees in the western parts, increase by 2 to 4 degrees in the northeastern parts, and there will be no significant change in other areas.
WIND: Generally light from the south, occasionally moderate, while in the Aegean and Western Mediterranean, it is expected to blow strongly and briefly in the form of a storm (50-70 km/h) from the south and southwest.
STRONG RAIN WARNING In a warning made by MGM, it was stated, "Since the rainfall is expected to be strong in the Aegean and Western Mediterranean, as well as in the regions of Balıkesir and Bursa, and very strong and severe in Aydın, Denizli, and Muğla, caution and preparedness should be exercised against possible adverse conditions."

AVALANCHE RISK WARNING MGM, in its warning, stated, "There is a risk of avalanche in the high snow-covered sloped areas of the inner parts of the Eastern Black Sea and the eastern part of Eastern Anatolia."
