Iran: The claim that direct negotiations are being conducted with the USA is not true.

Iran has denied claims that direct negotiations are being conducted with the United States, stating that communications are limited to messages conveyed through intermediary countries. U.S. President Donald Trump, however, has claimed in recent statements that negotiations with the Tehran administration are ongoing.

The spokesperson of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Ismail Bakayi, denied claims that direct negotiations were being conducted with the US. Bakayi stated that there had been no direct contact with Washington so far.

“MESSAGES ARE COMING THROUGH INTERMEDIARIES”

Speaking to the semi-official Tasnim News Agency, Bakayi noted that the US conveyed its desire for negotiations through intermediaries, stating, “We have not had any direct discussions with the US. What has been communicated to us are messages coming through intermediary countries.”

“DEMANDS ARE EXCESSIVE AND UNREASONABLE”

Emphasizing that Iran's stance has been clear from the beginning, Bakayi said that the demands conveyed by the US are “excessive and unreasonable.” He also expressed that the US's diplomatic rhetoric contains contradictions within itself.

PAKISTAN STATEMENT: “WE ARE NOT INCLUDED”

Addressing the diplomatic initiatives in the region, Bakayi stated that the contacts conducted by Pakistan are not part of a process belonging to Iran. He noted that they welcome the efforts of regional countries to end the war, but emphasized that the process needs to be evaluated correctly.

“IT SHOULD NOT BE FORGOTTEN WHO STARTED THE WAR”

The Iranian spokesperson highlighted the beginning of the war, stating that the international community should not overlook which side initiated the process.

TRUMP CLAIMS NEGOTIATIONS ARE CONTINUING

US President Donald Trump claims that the process of negotiations with Iran is ongoing and that progress is being made. While describing the talks as “productive” and “constructive,” Trump states that he has temporarily halted some military steps to create space for diplomacy.

However, Trump continues to send strong messages to Iran. Calling for an agreement with the Tehran administration, Trump warns that they could face severe consequences otherwise. The US administration, which demands the complete termination of the nuclear program, emphasizes that it will not make concessions on this issue.

While the Washington administration keeps the door open for negotiations, it continues to keep military options on the table. Trump's statements indicate that the US is simultaneously pursuing a policy of diplomacy and pressure, while the Iranian side argues that there is no direct negotiation.

US-ISRAEL'S ATTACKS ON IRAN

While negotiations between Tehran and Washington are ongoing, Israel and the US launched a military attack on Iran on February 28. Iran responded with attacks on targets it identified in several regional countries, including Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Bahrain, where US bases are located, in addition to Israel. In the US-Israel attacks, former Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, along with many high-ranking officials, was killed.
