Özgür Bayraktar has been appointed as the replacement for İzzet Ulvi Yönter, who resigned from the position of Deputy Chairman of the MHP.
BAHÇELİ APPOINTED ÖZGÜR BAYRAKTAR AFTER YÖNTER
The recent "agent" controversy that erupted in the MHP led to a resignation. First, MHP Deputy Chairman İzzet Ulvi Yönter made a venomous post and then resigned. Following Yönter's resignation, a new appointment was made in the MHP. MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli appointed Özgür Bayraktar as the Deputy Chairman responsible for Research and Strategy Development.
WHAT HAPPENED?
MHP member Yönter shared on his social media account on Friday, March 27, “The agent infiltrating the MHP is watching you from every angle. What do you understand from truth! Don't worry, we will definitely settle accounts with you... Your money won't help you, you lowly puppet...” Later, Yönter announced his resignation from the position of Deputy Chairman of the MHP with the words, "I am resigning from the position of Deputy Chairman of the MHP due to the necessity I have seen. I present it to the public's information." It was claimed that Yönter's "agent" allegation was aimed at MHP Chairman's Chief Advisor Eyyup Yıldız.
The controversy that started with the "agent" accusation in the MHP continues to remain at the top of the political agenda. MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli, in his first statement after Yönter's resignation, said, “There is no sulking. It is not a structure similar to events seen in different parties. It is the result of a division of labor he has done within his own understanding. I wish him success in his academic career. Soon, a valuable brother of ours will take over the chairmanship. Concepts like fracture and revenge are very foreign to us in the MHP.”
