The 69-year-old Weger company, one of the most established firms in the automotive supply industry in Turkey, could not overcome its financial difficulties. The company filed for concordat, and the court granted it three months of bankruptcy protection.

Weger, which has been operating in the automotive sub-industry in Turkey for 69 years and is among the most established companies in the sector, has been unable to overcome the economic crisis it entered. Weger has filed for concordat protection.

CONCORDAT ASSIGNED TO WEGER

The company that applied to the Tekirdağ Commercial Court was granted a temporary injunction for three months starting from April 10. The court appointed a three-person concordat commissioner board for the restructuring process of Weger's financial structure. It has been learned that the preliminary hearing of the case regarding the concordat process will be held on June 24. Additionally, a concordat request had also been made for Weger's owner Yunus Emre Tutan and two other companies.

ESTABLISHED AS A SMALL WORKSHOP IN 1956

Weger was established in 1956 in Ankara under the name Tutanlar Motorlu Araçlar San. ve Tic. A.Ş. Weger, which produces spare parts for heavy vehicles and passenger cars, has increased its export capacity over the years, sending parts to more than 40 countries. In 2020, the company renewed its corporate identity under the "Weger" brand.
