The awards at the 32nd International Golden Boll Film Festival held in Adana were presented to their recipients. The 'Best Film Award' was won by the film 'Is That a Thing?' directed by Pelin Esmer. Additionally, the Yılmaz Güney Award went to the film 'Home', the Best Screenplay Award was given to Özcan Çelik and Cem Zeynel Kılıç for the film 'Curtain', the Best Actress Award was awarded to Tülin Özen for the film 'Curtain' and Bige Ünal for the film 'I Am Here, I Am Fine', and the Best Actor Award was given to Nazmi Kırık for the film 'Flying Meatball'.
The 32nd International Adana Golden Boll Film Festival, held this year in Adana, awarded its prizes. At the ceremony held at the Çukurova University Congress Center, guests walked the red carpet and entered the grand hall.
THE HOSTS WERE OYLUM TALU AND YEKTA KOPAN
The night was hosted by Oylum Talu and Yekta Kopan, with the participation of Adana Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Güngör Geçer, city protocol, artists, and cinema enthusiasts. This year, artists who passed away were also commemorated with respect during the event.
Adana Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Güngör Geçer stated that the city has almost become a cinema city in the past week. Geçer said, "Tens of thousands of our people met with films, we looked at the same screen together. We brought the face of cinema not only to the theaters but also to the neighborhoods. This year, we came together with the theme of 'Peace, Freedom, and Hope' at our festival. We could not ignore the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza and the forest fires. The grand awards are a value given not only to a film but to those who shape cinema with their efforts," he said.
'IS THAT A THING?' FILM WINS 8 AWARDS AT ONCE
At the International Adana Golden Boll Film Festival, the film 'Is That a Thing?' stood out as the highlight of the night. The film won a total of 8 awards, including Best Film, Adana Audience Award, Best Director (Pelin Esmer), Best Cinematographer (Barbu Balasoıu), Best Art Director (Elif Taşçıoğlu), Türkan Şoray Promising Young Actress Award (Merve Asya Özgür), FİLMYÖN Best Director Award (Pelin Esmer), and SİYAD Cüneyt Cebenoyan Special Award.
OTHER AWARDS WERE ALSO PRESENTED
Additionally, the Yılmaz Güney Award was given to the film 'Home', the Best Screenplay Award to Özcan Çelik and Cem Zeynel Kılıç for the film 'Curtain', the Best Actress Award to Tülin Özen for the film 'Curtain' and to Bige Ünal for the film 'I Am Here, I Am Fine', and the Best Actor Award to Nazmi Kırık for the film 'Flying Meatball'. The Best Music Award went to Barış Diri for the film 'Daytime Apollo Night Athena', the Best Editing Award to Erhan Örs for the film 'Home', the Promising Young Actor Award to Mazlum Sümer for the film 'Cinema Jazireh', and the Kadir Beycioğlu Jury Special Award was also presented to the film 'Daytime Apollo Night Athena'.
During the ceremony, awards were also given to the winners of the International Short Film Competition, National Documentary Film Competition, National Student Short Film Competition, National Short Film Competition, and Literary Adaptation Feature Screenplay Competition.
