The bleeding wound of Turkey, the latest address of femicides, has become the Altındağ district of Ankara. According to the information obtained, Muradiye Gökmen (35), who has been in prison for a month, went on leave from the prison on the morning of October 15 to pick up her child from a friend's house.
THE OBSESSED LOVER MURDERED THE WOMAN IN FRONT OF HER CHILD
A.Ş.A. (52), who had been harassing Gökmen for a while and pressuring her to marry him, assaulted Gökmen with a shotgun and opened fire. Upon the notification of the surrounding people, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Gökmen, who was seriously injured, lost her life at the Etlik City Hospital where she was taken by medical teams. The suspect, who left the weapon used in the murder at the scene, was caught by police after fleeing in his vehicle and was arrested. It was learned that the suspect A.Ş.A. has numerous criminal records, including intentional injury, threats, theft, and violence against women.
"HE SAID, 'IF YOU DON'T MARRY ME AND HAVE A CHILD, YOU WILL DIE'"
Witness Elnara Asgorava, who stated that the attacker was obsessed with Gökmen and constantly pressured her to marry him, said, "Muradiye had been in prison for a month; she had gone on leave the day she was shot. She came to me that day; she was already calling from the open prison every day. She said she would come to pick up her child, and I said okay. She came 4-5 hours before she was shot, took her child, and left. 4-5 hours later, she called me and asked about the child's diaper; I said she could come and get it. While I was preparing the child's diaper, A.Ş.A. came. A.Ş.A. called me before Muradiye, asking if she was there; they had come together that morning to pick up the child. A.Ş.A. started shouting, and I said, 'don't fight here,' and they went downstairs. I heard a gunshot and ran down. Muradiye was lying on the ground, but there was no sound coming from her. According to the neighbors, he first hit her head with the back of the gun 2-3 times and then fired a shot; when he wanted to shoot again, the gun jammed. Later, when he hit her head again with the back of the gun, Muradiye's voice was silenced. I immediately went and took the child home. Muradiye was a very good person; she was not ungrateful. She was a cancer patient; I knew she had blood cancer. She was so happy on the first day of her leave, saying, 'I'm coming, sister, I'm coming to see my child.' I can't look at the child's face; it really hurts me. Muradiye was a very brave girl; I don't know what it was for others, but she was a brave girl. She had a fiancé, and they were going to get married when she got out. A.Ş.A. had said before shooting Muradiye, 'If you don't marry me and have a child, you will die,' as the neighbors heard," she said.
HE HAD PREVIOUSLY TAKEN HIS FRIEND HOSTAGE
Hülya Alan, who lived in the same house as the murdered Gökmen for a while and stated that she had also been taken hostage by the same attacker in the past, said, "Muradiye was a very good girl; she was a person who kept to herself. She sometimes came here with her child; I got to know her during that time. I don't know A.Ş.A. very well. We had gone to the workshop where my sister's husband had previously worked, and I met him there. While looking at the rooms in the workplace, I accidentally entered his office. While I was sitting there, my sister thought I had left and went home. Later, A.Ş.A. locked the door from downstairs, and when I wanted to leave, he said, 'You can't go, the door is locked.' I wasn't even close to him. I don't know if he was drunk, but he was already an obsessed, fixated person. He brought a shotgun from inside. I think it was the gun he used to shoot Muradiye. He pointed the gun at my forehead. I panicked a lot at that moment; I was very scared. I couldn't escape because we were in a place like a terrace floor. He kept me there for a night. After falling asleep for a while, I wanted to escape, but I couldn't find the key. He kept saying sentences like 'you will marry me.' That day, I thought about jumping from the 2nd floor to get away. In the morning, the other employees came, and that's how I got away. We are really sorry; I could have been in Muradiye's place because that gun was first pointed at me. I couldn't go and file a complaint; he threatened me with a message. I couldn't go to the police out of fear because he knows my address. He is a psychopathic, obsessed person. After he shot that girl, our psychology was disturbed. Right now, I really can't talk; I am reliving the incident. That night, I prayed to die, hoping to escape even if I died. I definitely want him to receive the highest penalty. For both my late friend and for what was done to me because I have permanent psychological damage from that day," she said.
