The discussions on the budgets of the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Treasury and Finance for the year 2025 have begun in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). The General Assembly convened under the chairmanship of Deputy Speaker Sırrı Süreyya Önder.

In the General Assembly, the budgets of the Halal Accreditation Agency, the Competition Authority, the Revenue Administration, the Turkish Statistical Institute, the Privatization Administration, the Capital Markets Board, the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency, the Public Procurement Authority, the Public Oversight, Accounting and Auditing Standards Authority, and the Insurance and Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Agency will be discussed.

In the budget discussions, which are generally marked by tensions, there were amusing moments this time. The words of AK Party Amasya Deputy Hasan Çilez, who took the floor in the Assembly, made the deputies laugh. Starting his speech by criticizing himself, Çilez said, "While our friends are speaking in the General Assembly, I sometimes interrupt and make comments. I don't get up to the podium very often during my speech, but I found the opportunity to speak about the budget. Those who want to make comments can exercise their democratic rights; it is free," he stated. The deputies responded to Çilez's words with laughter.
