The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced that Hyundai Motor is recalling 51,587 vehicles in the U.S. due to faulty assembly in the trailer wiring harness, which increases the risk of short circuits and fires. The agency advised that until repairs are completed, vehicles should be parked outdoors and away from structures instead of in enclosed areas.

FIRE RISK
According to the announcement, the incorrect installation of a wiring harness that can cause trailer lights to malfunction increases the risk of a short circuit, creating a safety issue that could lead to a fire in the vehicle.
"DO NOT PARK IN ENCLOSED SPACES" WARNING
NHTSA also issued an important warning to vehicle owners until the repair process is completed as part of the recall. The agency recommends that vehicles be parked outdoors and away from structures to reduce the risk of fire.
The announcement stated that authorized dealers would replace the trailer wiring harness free of charge as part of the recall, and that repair operations would be carried out as soon as possible for vehicle safety.
