The Louvre Museum in Paris, the capital of France, has announced that it will be closed today due to a strike by its employees.
The world-famous Louvre Museum, which has been in the news due to a previous robbery, has faced numerous challenges. After the robbery, the museum was also affected by flooding and was closed for a day.
REASON FOR CLOSURE: STRIKE
A post on the museum's social media account stated, "The museum is closed today due to the strike. We apologize for the inconvenience caused."
The General Confederation of Labor (CGT) and the French Democratic Confederation of Labor (CFDT) announced that approximately 400 employees of the Louvre unanimously decided to go on strike.
It has been reported that museum employees requested additional staff and measures to combat overcrowding at the iconic site following the jewelry theft that occurred in October.
