European Union (EU) countries have adopted new sanctions targeting those supporting Russia's shadow fleet that transports oil. The EU Council issued a statement regarding the decision taken against those supporting Russia's shadow fleet during a meeting of foreign ministers from member states held in Brussels.

THE LIST INCLUDES 5 INDIVIDUALS AND 4 ENTITIES

The statement indicated that businessmen linked to Russian state oil companies Rosneft and Lukoil have been listed, and companies based in the United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, and Russia that control ships carrying crude oil or petroleum products exported from Russia, conceal the origin of the oil, and engage in high-risk shipping operations are also included in the sanctions.

ASSETS WILL BE FROZEN

The statement mentioned that the assets of the identified individuals will be frozen, that EU citizens and companies will be prohibited from providing funds to them, and that these individuals will be subject to a ban on entry or transit through EU countries.

With the decision published in the EU Official Journal, businessmen Murtaza Ali Lakhani, Valery Kıldıyarov, Anar Madatlı, Talat Safarov, Etibar Eyyub, as well as the entities Nova Shipmanagement, Citrine Marine SPC, Hung Phat Maritime Trading, and SeverTransBunker Company Limited have been included in the EU sanctions list.
