The incident took place on August 2nd in Hocataşkın neighborhood of Yıldırım district. Arda Tırkaz went to the house of his ex-fiancée Elif B. with the light commercial vehicle with license plate number 16 AVH 310. Tırkaz kidnapped Elif B. by force with a gun, claiming that she had a new boyfriend. While escaping, Tırkaz also fired a shotgun at the house. Arda Tırkaz went to the front of the café owned by Refik Yiğit, whom he thought might be the new boyfriend of Elif B., with the vehicle he was driving. Tırkaz also fired shots at the café, injuring 2 people inside and 14-month-old Yusuf Sırma, who was sitting in his mother's lap on the balcony of the upper floor of the workplace. Sırma and the 2 individuals who were injured in the attack were taken to the hospital. POLICE TRACKED THE VEHICLE WITH A DRONEArda Tırkaz, who quickly fled the area with his light commercial vehicle, hijacked the car with license plate number 16 BJS 128 driven by Yasin Taştan in Millet neighborhood in order not to be tracked due to the presence of Vehicle Tracking System (ATS) in the vehicle. Tırkaz left the light commercial vehicle there and took Elif B. with the hijacked car while leaving the scene. Bursa Provincial Police Department Public Security Branch teams, who took precautions in the surrounding area, tracked the car from the air with a drone. The teams determined that the vehicle headed to Cumalıkızık neighborhood. They found the car, whose license plate had been removed, there. Homicide Bureau teams affiliated with the Public Security Branch and gendarmerie, who conducted research in the area, heard the cries for help of Elif B., who was dragged for 300 meters and brought to the forest by her ex-boyfriend and shot in the legs with a knife and a shotgun. At that moment, Tırkaz noticed the arrival of the police and gendarmerie and ended his life with the same shotgun. Elif B. was taken to Bursa High Specialization Training and Research Hospital by ambulance. HE HAD A RESTRAINING ORDER FOR 3 MONTHSArda Tırkaz, who was imprisoned for the crime of murder and released in 2022 and had a record of 4 different crimes, was taken to Bursa Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for autopsy. Meanwhile, it was learned that Elif B. obtained a restraining order for 3 months against Arda Tırkaz on July 11th, and despite this decision, Tırkaz's threats continued and Elif B.'s request for electronic ankle bracelet was rejected 6 hours before the incident. THE ATTACKER COMMITTED SUICIDEElif B., who gave a statement to the police while receiving treatment at the hospital, described what she experienced with these words: "Arda is my ex-fiancé. He is a troubled person. He broke into my house in the morning due to jealousy and kidnapped me. He also fired a gun at our house. On the way, he threatened me by saying, 'Who is your boyfriend? You will tell me.' Then he said, 'That child is going to this café,' and fired his gun at the workplace. Then he took me and left. On the way, he hijacked another car. He dragged me for meters in a wooded area. I begged him to let me go. He didn't accept. In the forest, he pointed the gun at me. I was very scared. Then he shot me twice in the legs. I got injured. While waiting for death, the police and gendarmerie arrived. When he saw them, he committed suicide with the same shotgun. I witnessed the moment of Arda's suicide. I can't believe what happened to me." BOTH LEGS AMPUTATED WITHIN 6 DAYSElif B., who was taken to the intensive care unit and had her artery in the knee cap ruptured and gangrene occurred, had her left leg amputated above the knee cap in an operation that lasted 5 hours on August 10th. Her right leg, which was also damaged by shrapnel, was amputated above the knee cap 6 days later on August 16th. The young woman was discharged on August 29th. It was stated that Elif B., who cried and asked, "What will I do if my leg is amputated? How will I walk?" before the surgeries, received psychological support.
