With the arrival of the month of Ramadan, the eyes and ears of millions of retirees are turned towards the holiday bonus. There are three different scenarios on the table...
Due to the low base pension, the income of approximately 5 million SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees, who benefit from the limited increase, has been raised in parallel with the increase given to civil servant retirees. Following this step, the lowest civil servant pension has risen to 27,889 lira, while the lowest SSK and Bağ-Kur pension has been increased to 20,000 TL.
THREE OPTIONS ON THE TABLE FOR HOLIDAY BONUS
After the salary increases, attention has turned to holiday bonuses. According to information discussed in the corridors, three different scenarios are being evaluated for the bonus amount. It is stated that if 1,000 or 1,500 TL is added to the current amount, the holiday bonus could be set between 5,000 TL and 5,500 TL. If budgetary conditions allow, increasing the bonus to 6,000 TL is also among the options.
HOW MUCH WILL THE TOTAL PAYMENT BE?
In the least likely scenario, if the bonus is set at 5,000 TL, retirees will receive a total of at least 10,000 TL during Ramadan and Eid al-Adha. If the bonus is set at 5,500 TL, the total amount that will be deposited into retirees' accounts during the two holidays will reach 11,000 TL. If the amount is increased to 6,000 TL, the total bonus to be paid during the year will be 12,000 TL.
WHO WILL RECEIVE THE HOLIDAY BONUS?
The holiday bonus is not limited to retirees. In addition to SSK, Bağ-Kur, and Pension Fund retirees, those receiving disability and duty disability pensions also benefit from this payment. Those receiving permanent incapacity benefits and widow and orphan pensions are paid bonuses in proportion to their shares. Additionally, citizens receiving 65-year pensions, relatives of martyrs, veterans, combat veterans, security guards, and civilians affected by terrorist incidents and their rightful claimants are also included in the bonus scope.
HOW IS THE BONUS CALCULATED FOR THOSE RECEIVING PERMANENT INCAPACITY BENEFITS AND WIDOW AND ORPHAN PENSIONS?
Those entitled to widow and orphan pensions due to a deceased insured person receive the holiday bonus in proportion to the monthly amount paid to them. Those receiving a widow's pension of 75% receive 75% of the bonus, those receiving 50% receive half, and those receiving 25% receive a quarter.
For those receiving permanent incapacity benefits, the bonus is calculated based on the person's degree of incapacity. In contrast, for those receiving 65-year pensions and some other rightful claimants, no proportional calculation is made; the entire bonus amount is deposited into their accounts.
