The Social Democrat Populist Party, which returned to the political scene after 14 years since its establishment, has been included in the "active political parties" list of the Court of Cassation Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The founding list of the SHP, in which Bülent Kerimoğlu, the former Mayor of Bakırköy known for his proximity to Kılıçdaroğlu, also played an active role, has also been revealed.
After submitting the establishment petition to the Ministry of Interior, the Court of Cassation Prosecutor's Office added the Social Democrat Populist Party, whose establishment procedures were completed on June 28, to the "active political parties" list. The party, abbreviated as "SHP" in the list, was shown to be located on Kızılay Karanfil Street.
HERE ARE THE FOUNDERS OF SHP
The founders of the Social Democrat Populist Party consisted of the following names: "Abdullah Çapar, Ahmet Arslan, Akın Gülay, Aziz Kızılarslan, Berat Umut Hoşgör, Burak Çelik, Diler Korkmaz, Doğukan Akdeniz, Emirkan Akdeniz, Emre Can Dursun, Enes Çelik, Engin Akyıldırım, Erdal Kayhan, Erdem Kaya, Erhan Kardeş, Gürkan Çelik, Hasan Korkmaz, İsmail Berk Güldoğan, Jale Ak, Kadriye Çelik, Mervenur Çelik, Mithat Çelik, Mücahit Çetinkaya, Okan Kanpara, Onur Karataş, Osman Ali Cavcı, Sabriye İçkilli, Selahattin Kardeş, Şaban Ergül, Tamer Demircan, Yunus Diler, Zülfü Hamit Altın."
KILIÇDAROĞLU'S MAN EMERGES FROM THE SHADOWS
Journalist Şaban Sevinç, who made a statement on social media after the establishment of SHP, stated that he spoke with the names mentioned in WhatsApp groups as the ones who founded SHP. Sevinç, who is known for his closeness to Kılıçdaroğlu, stated in his message shared on social media that former Bakırköy Mayor Bülent Kerimoğlu, who is close to Kılıçdaroğlu, was involved in the establishment of SHP. Ali Kılıç and Battal İlgezdi denied the allegations and said that such a move against the CHP would be wrong. Former İzmir Metropolitan Mayor Tunç Soyer also said, "I have absolutely no knowledge, it would be very wrong to do such a thing while the CHP is rising." However, former Bakırköy Mayor Bülent Kerimoğlu confirmed his involvement in the establishment of SHP. Kerimoğlu said, "However, we will continue to do politics within the CHP." Whoever came up with this idea will cause great harm to those who do it, it is a ridiculous situation from any angle.
ESTABLISHED FOR THE THIRD TIME
SHP dissolved its institutional identity and joined the CHP in 1995 under the leadership of Murat Karayalçın. In 2002, Karayalçın reestablished the party and brought together the Deniz Baykal dissidents in the CHP. Karayalçın left the SHP and became the Ankara Metropolitan candidate for the CHP in 2009, and Hüseyin Ergün took over the leadership. Ergün merged the party with the Equality and Democracy Party (EDP) in 2010. Thus, SHP was established for the third time.
