The recent exorbitant increases in housing and site fees have prompted the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change to take action. Minister Murat Kurum announced that they are preparing a new regulation to address this situation, which directly affects citizens' budgets. Kurum stated, "We will monitor the site management sector on a 24/7 basis. With this regulation, which concerns our citizens' pockets, we will completely stop the unjust and arbitrary fee increases that everyone is complaining about."
EXPENSES WILL BE DETAILED
As part of the proposed legal regulation, the financial activities in sites where approximately 20 million people live will be scrutinized. Companies providing services to apartment and site managements will be classified according to certain criteria, and only companies licensed by the ministry will be able to take over site management.
PENALTIES FOR UNJUST FEE INCREASES
Licensed companies will be obliged to operate common areas such as parking lots, gardens, and social spaces correctly. Licenses of companies found to have irregularities during inspections will be revoked. Additionally, apartment and site managements will be inspected at least once a year, and penalties will be imposed on those who make unjust fee increases.
