Yusuf Emre Kürkçü and Engin Altın, who create content on the internet in Bursa, are searching through trash bins to find valuable items. In some videos, the value of the items found in the trash is astonishing. They share the items they find on their YouTube channel "Waste Hunter," where they are watched by thousands of people.
THEY SHED LIGHT ON WASTE By rummaging through trash, Yusuf Emre Kürkçü and Engin Altın are revealing the waste that goes to the garbage, finding many items ranging from smartphones to unused dinner sets, and from jewelry to valuable watches. The usable items they find are given to those in need.
FOUND A WATCH WORTH 800 THOUSAND LIRA Yusuf Emre Kürkçü stated that they shoot videos to draw attention to waste and to showcase the values thrown away, saying, "We opened a channel called 'Waste Hunter' to raise awareness about waste. We wanted to find valuable items from waste and evaluate them. We want to show how much waste people create. With the content we create, we have unfortunately seen how many valuable items are in the trash. We have found watches worth 200 thousand lira. We research and learn their value. Besides that, we find many unused products, which we also deliver to those in need. Another watch we found turned out to be worth 800 thousand lira when we checked online. It's a huge thing for us, but it was thrown away. It has a serial number on it. It's really interesting; while people can't get close to it, we found it in the trash. Actually, we don't have a commercial infrastructure; we just throw it in a corner. We find albums and money from very old times. We have found collectible coins as well. We sent these to our followers who wanted them. Our people love this kind of content. We do waste, but on the other hand, we are a nation that stays away from waste. We want to create awareness. If we can evaluate the items in the trash and reach those in need, it would make us very happy," he expressed.
