"They attacked the New Year market with the words 'This is a Sharia country.'"

The New Year market organized by the Odunpazarı Municipality in Eskişehir was attacked early in the morning by an individual. The person caused damage to the stands, lights, tents, and tables, saying, "This is a sharia country."

The attacker also used threatening language towards the statue of the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. In the video, the individual can be seen damaging the lighting of the monument while saying, "We will destroy all of this one day."

HE WAS DETAINED

Police teams who arrived at the scene detained the attacker. It was reported that the investigation is ongoing and that legal proceedings will begin after the individual's statement is taken.
