Residents of the villages at the foothills of Kazdağları, located within the borders of Bayramiç district in Çanakkale, are earning income by collecting morel mushrooms. Mehmet Başaran, one of the villagers who sells them to wholesalers for 1000 TL per kilogram, said, "We earn income by selling these. The weather has warmed up, and we hope for these."
In the mountain villages of Bayramiç, located within the borders of Çanakkale, citizens are earning income by collecting truffle mushrooms, which are priced at one thousand lira per kilogram.
THEY SELL IT FOR 1000 TL PER KILOGRAM
Kazdağları, with a height of 1,774 meters, is notable for its numerous endemic plant species, high oxygen levels, and mythological history. The southern part of Kazdağları is located in the Edremit district of Balıkesir, while the northern side is within the borders of the Bayramiç district of Çanakkale. The villagers living in the villages of Zerdalilik, Dağahmetçe, Alakeçi, and Çaldağ at the foothills of Kazdağları are selling truffle mushrooms to mushroom wholesalers for one thousand lira per kilogram.
"THE WEATHER HAS WARMED UP, OUR HOPE IS IN THESE"
Mehmet Başaran (56) from Alakeçi village said, "I sold truffle mushrooms. We call this 'göbek'. I sold it for one thousand lira per kilogram. There hasn't been enough truffle mushrooms, our hope is in the yellow mushroom and the other mushroom. We earn income by selling these. The weather has warmed up, our hope is in these."
