In an operation organized by the Police Department under the coordination of the Osmaniye Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 8 out of 9 people detained for opening Papara accounts without permission in the names of earthquake victims by distributing BİM cards loaded with 500 Turkish Liras under the guise of a charity platform were arrested. The facts related to the incident continue to emerge. A speech made by a person named Volkan Ö., who is the president of the so-called platform, at the Osmaniye Muhtarlar Association shortly before the truth came to light has surfaced. The network leader's claim that they took people's ID cards to record the aid and that they recorded the faces of people for the purpose of preparing thank-you videos was shocking. Claiming to be the president of a charity association, Volkan Ö. explained how they obtained personal information and how they recorded the videos. Defending himself by saying, "A fruitful tree is stoned," Volkan Ö. stated, "We do not take people's identity photos; we check the information of the person in the thank-you video we record when we distribute to people. I am a means, money comes to me. I say I will distribute 50 cards with money. I divide it among 5 people. Here, we take the video. We shared some of the videos we took here. We have no connection with the accounts opened. I swear I heard about Papara yesterday. We have no relation with Papara. We have our word, a fruitful tree is stoned. No one should gain from me. The reason we collect identities here and call them one by one is neither to put our village heads under suspicion nor to check if the person we gave is correct. I have not given a single TL to any village head in Osmaniye. We presented the cards by writing names and surnames for everyone," he said.
