The assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, where he went to attend the inauguration ceremony of Iranian President Mahmoud Pezeshkian, has caused a sensation in the world agenda.

Footage has emerged of Haniyeh chatting with Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan at Pezeshkian's inauguration ceremony yesterday, showing the two men having a pleasant conversation.

In his statement following Haniyeh's murder, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan used the following expressions; "I learned with deep sorrow that our dear brother Ismail Haniyeh was martyred in Iran.

He had dedicated his life to the Palestinian cause and the establishment of peace and tranquility in Palestine. We are witnesses to the efforts he made in recent times to achieve a ceasefire. Even when his family members were killed by Israel, he never lost his faith in peace for a moment.

"HE HAD BECOME A SYMBOL OF RESISTANCE"

Ismail Haniyeh had become a symbol of the glorious Palestinian resistance. His noble memory will live on in the just cause of the Palestinian people. May Allah have mercy on him and may his resting place be in paradise."
