Tearful Syrian families continue to anxiously wait for their loved ones around the Aktan Prison near Raqqa, which has been cleared of the terrorist organization YPG/SDG by the Syrian army. A tearful mother searching for her 18-year-old son stated that he has been held here for 7 months on the accusation of being affiliated with the Syrian Army.
After the Syrian army liberated many areas from the terrorist organization YPG/SDG in the last 48 hours, a 4-day ceasefire was established last night.
Among the areas liberated by the Syrian Army is the Aktan Prison, where individuals held by YPG/SDG, as well as elements of the ISIS terrorist organization, were detained. Syrian families waiting around Aktan Prison are searching for their relatives.
WAITING FOR HER 18-YEAR-OLD SON WITH TEARS IN HER EYES
Hind el-Ard (52), who is searching for her son and brother in front of the prison with tears in her eyes, stated that her 18-year-old son has been held here for 7 months on the accusation of being affiliated with the Syrian Army by YPG/SDG. Mother Ard reported that YPG/SDG sentenced her son to 1.5 years in prison.
The tearful mother, who mentioned that she had previously visited her son three times, said that for the past month, the terrorist organization has been throwing them out of the prison gate and did not allow her to see her son on New Year's. Mother Ard, while praying, said, "May Allah free all Muslim captives. Hopefully, my son will also be released."
WHAT HAPPENED AT AKTAN PRISON?
Aktan Prison, located 10 kilometers northeast of the center of Raqqa, Syria, where some ISIS terrorists were also held, was controlled by YPG/SDG terrorists.
When the Syrian army forces went to the region on January 19 to take over the prison, they encountered armed resistance from YPG/SDG terrorists. The YPG/SDG terrorists, who clashed with the Syrian army, then withdrew from the area after releasing the prisoners inside.
The Syrian Ministry of Defense's Press and Communication Department announced on January 20 that security had been fully established at Aktan Prison and that security forces had been deployed around it.
