"They said, 'It doesn't concern us!' Why is the terrorist organization YPG resisting the call from Imralı?"

Following the call from the terrorist organization PKK's leader Abdullah Öcalan, stating "All groups should lay down their arms and the PKK should disband," the PKK announced that they would comply with the call. YPG/SDF leader Mazlum Abdi said, "Öcalan's call is not for us, but for the PKK." TV100 Foreign News Director Ahmet Yeşiltepe made striking observations while evaluating why the YPG did not comply with the call from Imralı.

The process that started with MHP General Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's message of "Terror-Free Turkey" saw a DEM Party delegation visit İmralı three times to meet with the terrorist organization PKK's leader Abdullah Öcalan. After the last meeting, the DEM Party delegation shared a letter written by Öcalan with the public. In his message, the terrorist leader Öcalan called on the PKK to lay down arms and dissolve itself.

PKK TERRORIST ORGANIZATION: WE ARE DECLARING A CEASEFIRE

In Öcalan's message, it was stated, "The theory, program, strategy, and tactics have been heavily influenced by the harsh reality of the real-socialist system of the century. The collapse of real socialism in the 1990s due to internal reasons and the resolution of identity denial in the country, along with the developments in freedom of expression, have led to the PKK's meaninglessness and excessive repetition. Therefore, it has completed its life like its counterparts and made its dissolution necessary."

Yesterday, following Abdullah Öcalan's call for the PKK to lay down arms, a statement came from Kandil. The PKK Executive Committee stated, "We fully agree with the content of the call and declare that we will comply with and implement the requirements of the call from our side. We are declaring a ceasefire effective immediately."

"THE CALL TO LAY DOWN ARMS HAS RE-SHAPED THE DYNAMICS IN THE REGION"

Ahmet Yeşiltepe, the Foreign News Director of TV100, made very important observations about why the YPG did not comply with İmralı's call. Yeşiltepe stated:

"It is evident that the YPG terrorist organization has long been looking for a partner and a branch to hold onto in Syria. The call for the PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan to lay down arms has changed the dynamics in the region. Perhaps it should be said that it has re-shaped them.

The response of the YPG leader Mazlum Abdi to this call has long been discussed regarding the organization's relations with Israel. In his statement, Mazlum Abdi noted that Öcalan's call did not directly concern the YPG and stated that their interlocutors were the Damascus administration.

"THE TERRORIST ORGANIZATION HAS BEEN LOOKING FOR A PARTNER FOR A LONG TIME"

However, the organic relationship between the PKK and the YPG has been known for years. Especially the relationships established with Israel and the search for support are seen as an effort of the YPG to maintain its presence in the region. This situation has also brought discussions that the YPG acts in line with the policies of other actors in the region rather than the interests of the Kurdish people.

The terrorist organization has been looking for a partner for a long time. The response given by the YPG and the organization's rapprochement with Israel have been discussed for a long time. Three weeks ago, it was reported in the Israeli press that the YPG had asked Israel for help to prevent the U.S. from withdrawing from the region.

ILHAM AHMED HAD POINTED TO ISRAEL

On February 3, Ilham Ahmed, the YPG's head of foreign relations, stated that Israel should be at the table for the security of the Middle East. He declared that he did not consider the meeting where Ahmet El Şara was declared president legitimate. This actually led to the thought that there are dualities or different opinions within the organization.

"THE CALL HAS CAUSED CONCERN ON THE ISRAELI SIDE"

Israel does not want a new development that would give Turkey a specific weight, especially with Syria immediately to its east. It is in search of an ally that can act in the same direction as itself in the region.

When Abdullah Öcalan made the call for an end to the conflicts that have lasted for about 40 years, this call particularly caused concern on the Israeli side. This call resonated widely in Turkey and the international arena, but Israel approached it cautiously.

The possibility of the U.S. withdrawing from Syria has indeed brought the YPG even closer. It has directed them towards alternative support searches. In this context, the more intense consultations established with Israel are also considered part of the organization's strategy to maintain its existence.

This situation clearly shows that the YPG is an organization that works for Israel's interests rather than for the Kurds.

"IT HAS LED TO DISCUSSIONS WITHIN THE ORGANIZATION"

The YPG's failure to take up the call has also led to discussions within the organization. Mazlum Abdi initially proposed a positive approach but stated, 'This is not a call that concerns us.' He expressed that they are the 'representatives of the Kurdish people' and said they would not comply with this call.

Ahmed's insistence not only on laying down arms but also on cooperation with Israel shows that there are cracks within the organization. We will see whether the Damascus administration or Öcalan's call will be effective in the disarmament process. Their expectation of support from Israel indicates a weakening within the organization and a new understanding of seeking protection."

ISRAEL'S TARGET IS DAMASCUS

Israel, which has taken on the protection of the Druze in Syria, announced that it would take action against Syria in the event of an attack on the Syrian Druze. In a statement from the press office of the Israeli Ministry of Defense, it was stated that Israel could attack Syria if the Syrian Druze are targeted by the new administration in Damascus.

WHO IS ILHAM AHMED?

He serves as the head of foreign relations for the terrorist organization YPG. Until July 2018, Ahmed was the co-chair of the North and East Syria Administration, which is the upper formation of the YPG, known as the Syrian Democratic Forces.
