Before the Champions League match between PSV and Napoli, 180 Napoli fans were detained and removed from Eindhoven. Dutch security forces assessed the match as high-risk due to the potential for fan-related incidents and detained the supporters for violating gathering rules. The fans' tickets were canceled, and they were sent out of the city.

It has been reported that 180 Italian fans who went to the city of Eindhoven before the PSV-Napoli match in the third week of the UEFA Champions League were first detained and then removed from the city.

180 FANS DETAINED

According to news reports in the Italian press, it was stated that there were tense moments for Italian fans in Eindhoven last night before the Champions League match to be played this evening between the Dutch representative PSV and Italy's Napoli. Dutch security forces assessed this match as high-risk due to the potential for fan incidents, and therefore detained 180 Napoli fans late last night for violating the gathering rules announced for this match in the city.

TICKETS CANCELLED AND SENT OUT OF THE CITY

It was stated that the fans' valid tickets were cancelled and a decision was made to remove them from the city. In a report by Italian Rainews24, it was mentioned that Dutch security forces first made a statement saying, "Italian fans caused some disturbances," and then corrected this by stating that they made this decision regarding Italian fans as a preventive measure.

Italy's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani stated in a post on the US-based X social media platform that Italy's embassy in The Hague is involved in the matter, saying, "I am monitoring the situation of Napoli fans who were stopped for control in Eindhoven before this evening's football match. The Dutch police will turn away fans without tickets."

Fabio, one of the 180 fans who spoke to the Italian ANSA agency, commented, "They sent us back despite having tickets we purchased for the match. When we arrived in the city, the police surrounded us and said we had to leave the city. They treated us as if we were guilty."
