In Konak district of Izmir, two people, a woman and a man, lost their lives while trying to escape from heavy rain and getting electrocuted. Police officers took security measures at the scene, while officials from the electricity company conducted investigations.

CAUGHT IN THE RAIN WHILE WALKING ON THE ROAD

During the heavy rain in Alsancak neighborhood of Konak district, the streets and avenues turned into lakes, and at that moment, 23-year-old Özge Ceren Deniz and 44-year-old İnanç Öktemay got caught in the rain.

NO ONE COULD APPROACH THEM

Özge Ceren Deniz and İnanç Öktemay, who wanted to cross the road through a puddle, got electrocuted in the water. The two young people waited for help under the rain for minutes, but no one could approach them due to the electric current.

REVIVED WITH CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION

Health teams that arrived at the scene performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on Özge Ceren Deniz and İnanç Öktemay, who were electrocuted for minutes. After intense efforts, the two individuals were revived and taken to the hospital by ambulances.

THEY LOST THEIR LIVES IN THE HOSPITAL

The young individuals, whose condition was critical, lost their lives in the hospital. An investigation has been launched regarding the incident. Officials from the electricity company also conducted investigations.
