Two 16-year-old children who got lost while hiking in Uludağ National Park in Bursa, one of them died after falling and hitting his head on the hard ground. The other child, who was found injured as a result of the search efforts, was taken to the hospital in an injured condition.
In Bursa, 16-year-old school friends Şahin Öztop and Alperen N. entered the forest to go for a nature walk in the Balaban neighborhood at the foot of Uludağ during the afternoon hours.
THEY FELL ONTO THE ROCKS
After walking for a while, the two friends fell onto the rocks from a height of about 3 meters in the Kanlı Göl area, where the ground had become slippery due to rain. Şahin Öztop and Alperen N. were injured after hitting their heads on the rocks.
A 60-PERSON TEAM FOUGHT FOR 2 HOURS
Upon Alperen N.'s notification, AFAD, Gendarmerie Search and Rescue (JAK), UMKE, fire department, ANDA, and AKUT teams were dispatched. A team of approximately 60 people began working to reach the injured. After about 2 hours of effort, the teams reached the injured.
HE COULD NOT BE SAVED
The teams brought Şahin Öztop and Alperen K., who were unconscious, down to the settlement area after the first intervention. The injured were taken to Bursa High Specialization Training and Research Hospital by ambulances waiting there. Despite the interventions made here, Şahin Öztop, who was in critical condition, lost his life. It was learned that Alperen N.'s treatment is ongoing. An investigation has been launched regarding the incident.
