Three suspects who impersonated police and took foreign students participating in the Erasmus program hostage in the Bornova district of Izmir were captured in an operation. The suspects were arrested by the court they were brought before and sent to prison.

The incident occurred in an apartment located on 169th Street in Kazımdirik Neighborhood. Students M.H., M.P., and T.R., who are Polish and German nationals and are in Turkey for Erasmus training, were held captive in the house where they were temporarily staying.

Upon receiving a tip-off, police teams determined that the suspects were wearing police vests, using uniforms, and had handcuffs with them. In an operation organized by the Bornova Crime Prevention and Investigation Bureau, the suspects E.E., A.D., and M.D., who held the students captive, were caught red-handed.

After their procedures at the police station, the three suspects, who were also charged with robbery, were referred to the courthouse and arrested, then sent to prison.
