Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that the law numbered 7533, titled "Law on Internal Affairs Officials and Amendments to Certain Laws and Decree Law No. 375," has come into effect. He stated that drivers using unauthorized flashing lights will face an administrative fine of 96,000 Turkish Lira.
Recently, the government has taken action to prevent the increasing use of unauthorized emergency vehicles. With the enactment of Law No. 7533, titled 'Law on Internal Affairs Officers and Amendments to Certain Laws and Decree Law No. 375', the fine for using unauthorized emergency vehicles has been raised to 96,000 Turkish Lira.
ALI YERLIKAYA ANNOUNCED
According to the statement made by Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya on his social media account, in addition to the monetary fine, driver's licenses will be revoked for thirty days, and the vehicle will be banned from traffic for thirty days.
If the driver has violated the law two or more times within one year prior to the date of the last violation, a traffic administrative fine of 192,000 TL will be imposed each time, the driver's license will be revoked for sixty days, and the vehicle will be banned from traffic for sixty days.
Emergency devices installed on vehicles not permitted by law will be confiscated by the administrative authority, and it will be decided by the administrative authority to transfer ownership to the public.
UP TO 4 YEARS IN PRISON FOR UNLICENSED WEAPONS
Yerlikaya also addressed the regulations regarding individuals who purchase, possess, or carry unlicensed firearms under the same law, stating, "Individuals who purchase, carry, or possess firearms in violation of the law (unlicensed) will be punished with imprisonment from 2 to 4 years. Those who purchase, possess, or carry parts of firearms (barrel, slide, body, frame, cylinder, mechanism head, extractor, claw, firing pin, or weapons capable of firing sound or gas cartridges that have been transformed into weapons subject to this law) will also be punished under the same law," he said.
