Speaking at a press conference regarding developments related to the fire disaster, Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna announced that a nighttime curfew would be imposed in the Palisades and Eaton areas affected by the fire in Los Angeles. "IF YOU ARE IN THESE AREAS, YOU WILL BE ARRESTED"Luna stated, "You cannot be in these areas. If you are found, you will be arrested," noting that this decision was implemented to protect evacuated homes. Luna mentioned that those who violate the curfew would be prosecuted for "reckless behavior," and if found guilty, they would face a fine of $1,000 or imprisonment. He reported that evacuation orders had been issued for approximately 153,000 people and that nearly 58,000 structures were also at risk. REBUILDING PLANS HAVE BEGUNLos Angeles Mayor Karen Bass also reminded that National Guard units have been deployed in the area, emphasizing that local police have been directed to ensure safety in evacuated locations. Stressing that no one would be allowed to "exploit" this tragedy, Bass announced that planning for rapid rebuilding has begun. Bass stated that bureaucratic obstacles would be removed during the rebuilding process, saying, "We will shake up the system and act with new strategies and implementations." ZERO TOLERANCE FOR LOOTINGLos Angeles Police Department Assistant Chief Dominic Choi noted that a total of 210 police officers have been assigned to maintain law and order in the fire-affected areas. Choi explained that police officers are patrolling the areas to ensure public safety and prevent criminal activities, stating, "We are operating with zero tolerance for looting. Those who loot or commit crimes in the affected areas will be arrested and prosecuted according to the law." DRONE FLIGHT HAS BEEN BANNEDLos Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Maroney reported that they detected a "drone violation" in the fire area yesterday. Maroney stated that a small drone collided with the wing of a "Super Scooper firefighting plane," creating a hole, and the plane was urgently taken for repairs, with expectations of being operational again by Monday. He noted that there are only two of these planes, warning, "Flying drones in the fire area is not only dangerous but also illegal." Maroney mentioned that federal forces would monitor drone flights, stating that flying drones in these areas would mean the suspension of all air operations. Los Angeles County Assessor Jeff Prang estimated that at least 10,000 properties have been damaged by the fires so far, adding that they could share more detailed information in the coming days. Officials reported that 37% of Hurst, 8% of Palisades, 35% of Kenneth, and 3% of Eaton have been brought under control from the fires.
