Iranian Parliament Deputy Speaker Nikzad reacted to Ukraine's attack on an Iranian ship in the Caspian Sea, stating that the action will not go unanswered and that the right to self-defense will be exercised. One sailor lost his life in the attack.
Iran's Deputy Parliament Speaker Ali Nikzad said regarding Ukraine's attack on an Iranian ship in the Caspian Sea, "Ukraine's foolish act will not go unanswered."
"FOOLISH ACT"
Nikzad made assessments during an online parliament session regarding Ukraine's attack on an Iranian ship in the Caspian Sea.
Warning Ukraine "not to be a toy in the hands of the USA," Nikzad stated:
"Iran will always exercise its right to self-defense. The source of attacks against our country will be a legitimate target for our armed forces. Ukraine's foolish act will not go unanswered."
ONE SAILOR KILLED
Nikzad said that one sailor lost his life in the attack where Ukraine targeted an Iranian commercial ship in the Caspian Sea.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had announced that ships carrying military shipments linked to Iran, along with a warship, were targeted with long-range strikes in the Caspian Sea.
Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs had condemned the attack.
Additionally, Ukraine's Chargé d'affaires in Tehran was summoned to Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the matter.
