Three female football players, who sweat in the Kırşehir FK jersey, drew attention with their struggles in a sport they started despite criticisms that "it's not a woman's job."
The three athletes, who have received praise for their training and match performances, managed to become indispensable members of the team by not giving up on their dreams. Pelin Yıldız, who started playing football despite her father's criticism of "Football is a man's job, go to another sport," has the biggest dream of breaking her father's prejudices after becoming a good football player.
''MY FATHER WAS PREJUDICED''
Yıldız, one of the athletes who said they work day and night to be a football player, stated, "In the neighborhood where I lived, my brothers always played football. This situation became an enthusiasm for me. This enthusiasm triggered me, and I came to the green fields. I took my first step into football by playing with boys. As I grew older, I communicated the situation to my family. My father was prejudiced and said that football is a man's job. I will break my father's prejudice," she said.
''FOOTBALL HAS BECOME OUR CHARACTER''
Hatice Nur Güçlü, who stated that their stories triggered each other, said, "We met Pelin on the field. Our unity on the field reflected in a football club. We started to find ourselves on the green fields after school, and football began to become our character."
''WE WILL OVERCOME THE 'YOU ARE A WOMAN' NARRATIVES WITH OUR SUCCESS''
Ela Torun, who said, "We will overcome the 'you are a woman' narratives with our unity and success," also expressed that they play in a women's football team and that their dream, like every football player, is to play in big clubs and make their families proud.
