National motorcycle racer Toprak Razgatlıoğlu made statements regarding the MotoGP World Championship. National motorcycle racer Toprak Razgatlıoğlu aims to reach the podium in his first year in the MotoGP World Championship. Toprak Razgatlıoğlu, who will start his MotoGP career with Yamaha's factory-supported satellite team Prima Pramac, introduced the Prima Pramac Yamaha motorcycle he will use in the 2026 season in Siena, Italy. After the introduction, the national motorcycle racer made a statement to AA.
'A VERY SPECIAL MOMENT'
Red Bull athlete Toprak said, "This is a very special moment for us. We are becoming MotoGP riders for the first time. It is a very special moment; we can say our dreams have come true. We had such a dream years ago. But it felt very far away for us. Now we are where we dreamed of being. Hopefully, everything will go well."
'IT WILL BE AMAZING FOR US'
The national motorcycle racer, who reached the championship for the third time last season in the World Superbike Championship, reminded that he will compete in MotoGP for the first time, saying, "Everything will be new for us. Everyone has high expectations in MotoGP. I am trying to reduce those expectations a bit. Because the learning year for us in MotoGP is completely different. There is a lot for us to learn."
Regarding his goals for the first year, Toprak stated, "If we can achieve a podium in our first season, it will be amazing for us. Because we need motivation too. With your support, we will try to get through the first year somehow. I believe we will enter 2027 stronger."
'NOW I AM WAITING FOR 07'
Toprak, who said he would race with a different number in MotoGP, noted: "As you know, my number is no longer 54. There is another rider using number 54 here. When I took over number 54 and the flag from Kenan brother, we achieved special things. Especially in Superbike, we became champions three times. I wanted to continue with number 54 in MotoGP, but since another rider is using it, we switched to another number. I was thinking of number 7; there were also special names who used number 7 before, but it felt plain, and I didn't like it much. We asked the organization about 07, and they accepted it. I was really pleased. Because my first number in my motorcycle career was 07, and now I am using 07. Hopefully, it brings us luck. We made history with number 54; hopefully, we will also make history in MotoGP with 07."
