The Kurram region, located 218 kilometers from Peshawar, the capital of Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, frequently witnesses tribal conflicts.

According to a report by the national press citing security forces, a conflict erupted between Sunni and Shia tribes in Kurram. Armed individuals set fire to shops, houses, and government property in the Bagan and Bacha Kot areas. In the clashes, 35 people lost their lives, and 25 were injured.

EDUCATION HAS BEEN SUSPENDED

A security official, who wished to remain unnamed, stated, "Educational institutions in Kurram are closed due to violent incidents. The parties are targeting each other with heavy and automatic weapons."

There are concerns about the escalation of inter-tribal violence in the Kurram region near the Afghanistan border.
