U.S. President Donald Trump, blaming journalists and Democratic politicians for the leak of intelligence reports following attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities, said, "Democrats should be prosecuted."
In an interview with the U.S.-based television channel Fox News, U.S. President Donald Trump made a statement regarding intelligence reports on the targeting of Iranian facilities in the Iran-Israel war.
HE HELD DEMOCRATS RESPONSIBLE, SAID 'THEY SHOULD BE PROSECUTED'
Trump held journalists and Democrats responsible for the leak of the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency report, stating that those responsible for the leak should be prosecuted. "National security is at stake. You have to find out the source. I think we will do such things too," Trump said, reiterating his statement on social media, "Those who leaked information about the perfect flight to the nuclear facilities in Iran were Democrats. They should be prosecuted."
TRUMP BLAMED JOURNALISTS
During the interview, Trump emphasized that journalists' sources could be called to court. "If they want, they can find out. You can go to the reporter and ask, 'Who gave this?' You have to do that," Trump continued his accusations against the media.
NEGOTIATIONS WITH CANADA HAVE STOPPED
In the program, Trump also addressed the issue of trade with Canada, announcing that negotiations between the two countries have been halted until certain taxes are reduced, stating, "We will not move forward without tax reductions."
WHAT HAPPENED?
The White House accused U.S. media outlets that published the intelligence report of "spreading fake news to weaken the president," while Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Chief of Staff General Dan Caine argued that the reliability of the Defense Intelligence Agency report was "low."
An Israeli official, in a press statement, claimed that the U.S. airstrike caused "significant damage" to Iran's nuclear program, while stating that the Defense Intelligence Agency's damage assessment was "premature and incomplete," adding, "A professional war damage assessment takes time."
