U.S. President Donald Trump invited President Erdoğan to participate as a founding member of the Gaza Peace Council. Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan was also part of the Gaza Executive Committee, established to support governance and services in Gaza.

The second phase of the process initiated under U.S. President Donald Trump's Gaza Peace Plan has begun.

MINISTER FIDAN ALSO IN THE PEACE COUNCIL

The White House announced the members of the Peace Council that will manage the transition process in Gaza. Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is also part of the Executive Council that will support the Palestinian Authority in Gaza.

TRUMP INVITED ERDOGAN

While it was stated that the Peace Council and its bodies responsible for ensuring security and reconstruction in Gaza will be established, Communications Director Burhanettin Duran announced that he sent an invitation from Trump to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Communications Director Burhanettin Duran, in a statement regarding the matter, said, "The United Nations Security Council, with Resolution 2803, has decided to support the Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict announced by U.S. President Donald Trump. In this context, the Peace Council and its bodies responsible for ensuring security and reconstruction in Gaza are being established. U.S. President Donald Trump sent a letter on January 16, 2026, inviting our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to be a founding member of the Peace Council as its founding chairman."

INTERNATIONAL STABILITY FORCE

American Commander Major General Jasper Jeffers has been appointed as the Commander of the International Stability Force (ISF), while Nickolay Mladenov has been appointed as the High Representative for Gaza.

Mladenov will take on the role of field liaison between the Peace Council and the Gaza National Committee.

The stability force is expected to consist of at least three countries. Among the countries, there were claims that Italy, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, and Bangladesh would be included. It was announced that this force would operate in Gaza until the end of 2027.

It was also officially announced that the committee composed of Palestinian technocrats is headed by Palestinian Minister Ali Shaat.
