Former President Trump targeted President Biden by highlighting that Rahmanullah Lakanwal, who carried out the armed attack on the National Guard in Washington, is of Afghan nationality. Sharing a photo showing some immigrants being flown into the country after U.S. forces withdrew from Afghanistan, Trump said, "Hundreds of thousands of people have flowed into our country completely unchecked and unvetted. We will fix this, but we will never forget what the fraudulent Joe Biden and his gang have done to our country."
US President Donald Trump announced that 20-year-old National Guard soldier Sarah Beckstrom, who was injured in a shooting in the capital Washington on November 26, has died, and that 24-year-old Andrew Wolfe's condition is critical.
THE ATTACKER'S FAMILY MAY BE DEPORTED
Trump stated that they are considering the deportation of the wife and children of 29-year-old Afghan citizen Rahmanullah Lakanwal, who carried out the attack that bloodied the US, and reacted to former US President Joe Biden through a photo he shared.
"WE WILL NEVER FORGET WHAT FAKE BIDEN DID TO OUR COUNTRY"
Sharing a photo showing that some immigrants were brought to the country by plane after US forces withdrew from Afghanistan, Trump said, "Hundreds of thousands of people flowed into our country completely unchecked and unvetted. We will fix this, but we will never forget what fake Joe Biden and his gang did to our country."
WHAT HAPPENED?
The Washington Police Department reported that two National Guardsmen on duty near the White House were shot around 2:15 PM local time on November 26, and that the suspect was apprehended. FBI Director Kash Patel stated that, based on the evidence they have so far, the attacker acted alone and that this person has been taken into custody. Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser, speaking at the same press conference, described the attack as "a targeted assault" and said they would investigate the incident thoroughly in collaboration with the FBI.
In his first statement regarding the incident on social media, President Trump noted that two National Guard soldiers were being treated in the hospital and referred to the perpetrator as an "animal." Trump also mentioned that the attacker was injured and would "pay a heavy price." US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth announced during a press conference in the Dominican Republic that the number of National Guards in the capital would be increased following the armed attack targeting the two National Guards, and that 500 new soldiers would be deployed to Washington at President Trump's direction.
Trump criticized the immigration policies of the Biden administration, stating that the suspect apprehended in connection with the incident was an immigrant who arrived in the US from Afghanistan in September 2021. The US Citizenship and Immigration Services announced that the processing of immigration applications for all Afghans in the country has been halted.
