Turkey's Borsa Istanbul Closes Tuesday With New Records

Turkey's benchmark stock index ended with gains on Tuesday to hit another record closing of 1,981.04 points, and the intraday all-time high of 1,983.99 points during the session.

Starting the day at 1,983.99 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 53.65 points, or 2.78%, from the previous close of 1,927.39 points.

One ounce of gold traded for $1,781.00 by market close, up from $1,778.35 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was up 3% to $75.28 per barrel as of 6.39 p.m. local time (1539GMT).
