Turkey's Borsa Istanbul Down 0.13% At Thursday's Close

BIST 100 index loses 1.79 points from previous close.

Turkey's benchmark stock index closed at 1,411.75 points on Thursday, down 0.13% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 1,412.17 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index lost 1.79 points from Wednesday's close of 1,413.54 points.

The index's lowest value during the day was 1,407.88 points and its daily high was 1,422.44 points.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was over 1.1 trillion Turkish liras ($123.1 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of over 15 billion Turkish liras ($1.64 billion).

A total of 41 stocks on the index rose, 50 fell, and nine remained unchanged compared to Wednesday's close.

The highest trading volumes were posted by private lender Garanti BBVA, carmaker Ford Otosan, and defense company Aselsan.

Shares of state lender Vakifbank performed the best, rising 4.23%, while stocks of pipe and tube producer Erbosan dropped the most, 4.76%.

One ounce of gold traded for $1,797.15 by market close, up from $1,766.25 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.

The price of Brent crude oil was up 0.5% to $83.62 per barrel as of 6: 51 p.m. local time (1551GMT).
