Turkey's Borsa Istanbul Down At Friday's Opening

Borsa Istanbul BIST 100 index loses nearly 180 points at opening session.

Turkey's benchmark stock index started the last transaction day of the week at 105,182.88 points on Friday, down by 0.17%, or 176.88 points.

At Thursday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up 0.39% at 105,359.76 points with a daily trading volume of 18.25 billion Turkish liras ($2.7 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.8190 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Friday, compared to 6.8180 at Thursday's close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 7.5670 from 7.5300 and one British pound traded for 8.4340 Turkish liras, up from 8.4020 at the previous close.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $35.70 as of 10.00 a.m. local time on Friday. -
