BIST 100 index up 18 points from previous close.
Turkey's benchmark stock index started Thursday at 106,802.94 points with a daily rise of 0.02%, or 17.86 points.
On Wednesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index slipped by 0.69% to close the day at 106,785.08 points with a daily trading volume of 9.9 billion Turkish liras (some $1.74 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 5.7070 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Thursday, compared to 5.7040 at Wednesday's close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.3280, versus 6.3120, and one British pound traded for 7.3960 Turkish liras, versus 7.3880 at the previous close.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $62.23 as of 10 a.m. local time . -
