Turkey's Borsa Istanbul Up At Opening Session

BIST 100 index up over 140 points from previous close.

Turkey's benchmark stock index rose by 0.12%, or 143.62 points, on Tuesday, to start the day at 120,392.65 points.

At Monday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index jumped 1.34% to reach 120,249.03 points with a daily trading volume of 14.8 billion Turkish liras ($2.5 billion).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 5.8760 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Tuesday, which was also at 5.8730 at Monday's close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also stood at 6.5480, versus 6.5290, and one British pound traded for 7.6520 Turkish liras, versus 7.6440 at the previous close.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $64.30 as of 10 a.m. local time on Tuesday. -
