Turkish Stocks Start Week Looking Up

BIST 100 index gains 16.8 points at opening session.

Turkiye's benchmark stock index opened the week at 2,089.72 points on Monday, rising 16.79 points, or 0.81%, from the previous close.

The BIST 100 index increased by 0.11% on Friday to close the week at 2,072.93 points, with a daily trading volume of 34.9 billion Turkish liras ($2.5 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was around 13.5700 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), versus 13.5320 at the previous close.

The euro/lira exchange rate stood at 15.4849 from 15.4820, while a British pound traded for 18.5710 liras, down from 18.6020.

Brent crude oil was sold for around $86.37 per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time . -
