Turkish Stocks Up At Midweek Open

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rises 1.03% from previous close.

Turkey's benchmark stock index opened at 1,828.33 points on Wednesday, up 18.68 points or 1.03% from the previous close.

The BIST 100 was up 0.05% to a new record high of 1,809.65 points at Tuesday's close, with a daily trading volume of 35.4 billion Turkish liras ($2.7 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate climbed to 13.5010 as of 9: 30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Wednesday, from 13.0910.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was up from 14.8920 to15.2930, while one British pound traded for 17.9910 Turkish liras, compared to 17.5160 at the previous close.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for $71.30 as of 10 a.m. local time . -
