Turkiye's Borsa Istanbul Up At Close

Turkiye's benchmark stock index ended Friday at 2,072.93 points, up 0.11% from the previous close.

Starting the day at 2,071.35 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 2.28 points from Thursday's close of 2,070.65 points.

The index's lowest value during the day was 2,049.32 points, while its daily high was 2,081.07.

The total market value of the BIST 100 was around 1.66 trillion Turkish liras (some $123 billion) by market close, with a daily trading volume of 32.9 billion liras ($2.43 billion).

During the last transaction day of the week, 60 stocks on the index rose, 34 fell, and six were unchanged compared to Thursday's close.

The highest trading volumes were posted by flag carrier Turkish Airlines, iron/steel producers Kardemir and Eregli.

Automotive firm Dogus was the best performer, with its shares up 9.99%, while stocks of market chains Sok saw the sharpest drop, 2.12%.

The price of one ounce of gold was $1,825.05 by market close, down from $1,828.75 at Thursday's close.

The price of Brent crude oil was around $83.4 per barrel as of 6.30 p.m. local time (1530GMT).
